REEVALUATE—“Be still and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth” (Psalm 46; cf. 1 Tim. 3:16; Isaiah 54:4-8). We are looking in all the wrong places for love and purpose, for wisdom, for justice, for judgment, and for equity (Isaiah 59:14; cf. Isaiah 1:16-20, specifically v. 18). Allow God to minister to your heart, soul, mind, and spirit. Allow Him to speak to you of the love [to comfort all that mourn], care [to give you beauty for ashes], and protection [to proclaim liberty to the captives] that awaits all who believe (Isaiah 61).
PROBLEM:
Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, yea, hath God said, ye shall not eat of every tree of the Garden? (Genesis 3:1). Eve’s first deadly mistake was to engage Satan see (v. 2). We must never open the door to satanic attack. Eve gave Satan the opening he needed to cause, entice, and tempt her to disobey God see (v. 4-5), thus causing the fall of the entire human race. We must NEVER give place to the devil,
“And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has desired to have you that he may sift you like wheat” (Luke 22:31).
Because of the sin of Adam and Eve, we must come to know the debilitating effect and power sin [now imputed to all humanity] has in our lives. When Adam and Eve disobeyed God (Gen. 3:6), their sin separated us from God and altered our very nature from the image of God (Gen. 1:26) to a depraved and corrupt image; thus, creating in us a depraved desire toward sin which can only be restored to its original God given state before the fall through faith and belief in Jesus Christ “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened” (Romans 1:21). Understanding the fall, sin, and the sin nature will help you understand death, sickness, and suffering as an act of humankind, and NOT as an act of God.
SOLUTION:
We must recognize that the human dilemma is a Spiritual crisis and; therefore, so must be the cure. God; therefore, in (Genesis 3:15) promised, and delivered to us a Savior, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believe in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). We must understand that our only hope for salvation is found in faith, belief, and obedience to Jesus Christ. However, we have been so bamboozled with the concerns of this world, that is, the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life that we have lost sight of the reality of sin and the sin nature (see Romans 8:3-4); we have lost sight of the true purpose of life.
The idea here is to examine those things that you hold to be true—your personal truth about God, self, others, and the world (See Ecclesiastes 1:18) so that you can reevaluate for correction those things that hinder your ability to reach your full potential, and stop the cycle of brokenness, failure, and disappointment, and live a healthy, productive, and purposeful life that honors God, self, family, and community.
